Baby Bulletin

We have decided to induce Steven on Saturday, September 2. Our doctor thinks that he is going to be a big baby and is concerned that his head will be too large for me to be able to deliver him vaginally if we leave him in there much longer. I'll be 39 weeks on Saturday. Unfortunately, the hospital is very busy this time of year and does not have any appointments available in Labor & Delivery. So we will be waiting for a phone call from my doctor to say that they have a room before heading to the hospital on Saturday. I wish that we had an official time but are excited that he will, Lord-willing, be here soon!

Things to come...

As a friend or family member, you already know that Charlton and I are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our son- due September 9. At the time of this first posting, I turned 29 weeks today and, as Charlton has started counting, that's only 8 weeks until I'm full term. Yes, we both know that 40 weeks is the total expected time of pregnancy (and that most first babies are even later) but after 37 weeks the baby is no longer considered pre-mature and can supposedly come at any time and is considered full term. A couple can dream, can't they? We announced to our families on Father's Day that his name will be Steven Mark Wimberly II. We are naming him after his paternal grandfather, a man that has been a great Dad and we know will make a wonderful grandfather as well.

So, of course, this will be our primary outlet for Steven's individual milestones and pictures, but also our family's travels and everyday triumphs. We joyfully anticipate these new things to come and hope that you will be able to share them with us, no matter where you are, through this blog.
