Brrrr....it's cold outside, so we are spending a lot of time indoors. Steven is able to play by himself more now that he can grab and interact with his toys. He spent some time playing in his room this morning. Several of you have asked for pictures of it, so this is for you. The wait is finally over! Exciting, I know.
His room (and the above outfit) are all about bugs. It might seem like a strange choice, but if you know us very well, you know that we are not really into sports all that much. And in case you haven't noticed before, a large portion of baby boy things are sports related. When we were decorating his room, we really wanted something that reflected us but weren't sure how that translated into a baby's room. Charlton collected bugs when he was little and so when we saw this crib bedding set we thought it was the answer. Plus, it was different from everything else we had seen (and we like being different).
Charlton painted the blue and green
stripes, and very patiently stuck each wallpaper bug along the wall. His hard work paid off because those bugs were the first thing that Steven focused on. He first discovered them while laying on the changing table; by 8 weeks he was totally in love with the little guys and "talked" to them like they were old friends. He now talk to us instead of the bugs, but the changing table still remains one his favorite places to hang out. My mom says that she's never seen a baby so happy to be on his changing table!

Hey Laura!
I didn't know that you guys had a blog! I found out through Stephanie today. Steven is totally adorable is his room is very "cool". I agree on the sports related theme --it seems like it's either sports or winnie the pooh. Good choice though. Something he can stick with for a while. Or atleast until he develops his own opinions! I enjoyed looking at all of your pictures & postings! Maybe someday I'll have my own baby pics to post on a blog! Email me at katers1@hotmail.com so I can have your email address.
Take care,
Katie
cute post Laura!
Steven looks like a completely different baby - he looks so grown up and handsome! We'll have to come see you guys when Saige is feeling better.
You are so right about all the sports-related baby bedding for boys! I would have never guessed how hard it would be to find something cute, but without footballs all over it!
i love steven's room, laura! great job! i have to admit i'm a little jealous though b/c i wish reese's room was finished. since we are hoping to move soon, i haven't put up the finishing touches like curtains and stuff. it's driving me crazy!
i love the bugs! so cute. hey, i was at old navy buying some cute things for a friend of mine who is due soon, and they had the cutest wintery stuff on sale...all kinds of shoes! you should look. i need to call joanna, and i'll tell her about your blog!
His room looks great. Y'all did a really good job. We haven't decorate a room yet for Billy, he is still in our room and probably will be for a few more months. I would love to do his room in the 'Cars' theme. We love that movie.
This is such a fun way to watch Steven grow!
