3 Months Old

I'm three and a half months old now, and look what I can do....
I can blow bubbles,
bring my hands together and play with them,
hold and shake my rattle,
practice sitting up,
and look cute (oh, wait, I already did that!).

Daddy's birthday

Happy (late) birthday to Daddy who turned 29 on November 30. He still had to go to work that day, but I managed to get a picture with him in my pjs before he left. Next year's the BIG 3-0!

Giving Thanks

I bet you can guess what we are thankful for....our beautiful baby boy! We spent Thanksgiving with our families. On Thursday, we were with the Thurmans, and Friday with the Wimberlys. I want to send a special thank you out to my mom and Brenda for what a big help they have been since Steven was born. Thank you, thank you for all the food you've brought, clothes you've washed and folded, and sleep you helped me get. We could not have survived the first three months without you!
Here are some pictures with my family that I've been slow to post.

End of a long, but fun, holiday!

Aunt Lindsay and Uncle Kyle couldn't be with us on Thanksgiving Day (we missed you!) but they came to celebrate Lindsay's birthday and Steven's baptism the weekend before. Lindsay didn't even mind that Steven stole a little of the limelight (ok, a lot of it)- she's such a great Aunt! These are pictures from her family birthday party.

Steven's Baptism 11.19.06

Steven was baptized yesterday by my Dad, or as we know him now, Pappa. It was so exciting and special to us that he performed the ceremony and introduced Steven into our covenant family. In true Wimberly style (wanting him to be as boyish as possible), we dressed him in his own white dress shirt, navy slacks, and tie. Steven was wonderful the whole service and very calm when Pappa sprinkled the water on his cute, hairy head.
Dad hands him off to Pappa.

Pappa introduces Steven to the congregation. He is reading a description of him that we wrote: "Steven is a happy, alert, and expressive little man with awesome hair."

My First Haircut

I got my first haircut today at 11 weeks! The barber suggested that we just trim the back and sides since cutting the top right now would make me look like a porcupine. It took three people to distract me while he cut my hair, but at least I'll look dashing for my baptism tomorrow.

Playing with Daddy

I turned two months old last week, and am doing so many fun things! I laughed for the first time on Monday. Mommy and Daddy try to get me to do it all the time now, but I save it for special times. Here are some pictures from one of them with Daddy!

Happy Halloween!

I was a rock star, and I didn't even need a wig! I had matching pants, but I decided just to stick with my "underwear"-- hanging out in your underwear is a very "rock star" thing to do. I guess you can just call me Stevie Mark. And Cousin Saige can be my Funky Bunch.

We can only take so much partying.

Here's a side view of my mohawk. It's kind of like an apache helicopter--difficult to see head-on.
Steven met his paternal great grandparents this weekend.
Mama and Papa drove all the way from Stephenville, TX to meet him.
This picture shows four generations of Sharp-Wimberlys.

I'm Six Weeks Old Today!

. . . and I just learned how to smile!

Check out my killer Rod Stewart hairdo. Da ya think I'm sexy?

Mom and Dad look really happy here because they're about to leave me with Granddad and Mimi so they can go on a date. I know they love me, but they definitely needed some them time.

. . . and with Uncle Patrick and Aunt Cheryl. I know I don't look happy here, but hey--a man can only have his picture taken so many times in one sitting.

Movin' on Up

We had to go back to the pediatrician on Monday to re-do his bloodwork (everything came back normal) and took the opportunity to weigh him again. As you might can tell from his pictures, he is growing fast! On Monday at 3 weeks, he weighed 9 lbs and 12 oz and is 22.5 inches long! That's up from 8 lbs. 3 oz. and 20.5 in. at our 1 1/2 week appointment. So, he has moved into the 70 percentile for weight and length. He's getting to be a big boy!

At Home

Two Weeks Old

I'm two weeks old now. We went to the doctor this week and she said I'm doing great! I weigh 8 pounds and 3 oz. which puts me in the 40 percentile for weight and in the 50 percentile for length. The doctor said we are doing great nursing even though mommy still gets frustrated with it at times.

Week One

Welcome Baby Steven!

He is finally here! Steven Mark was born on September 2, 2006 at 9:10 pm. He weighs 8 pounds and is 20 1/2 inches long. We ended up getting an appointment to induce him at 7 on Saturday morning and I was in labor for about 14 hours before he arrived. The first 10 hours went very slowly (I was dilated 5 cm at 5pm) but then once he decided to come; he came fast! It only took 5 pushes! The doctors and nurses were great and made our first days together much smoother.

We came home Monday afternoon and are adjusting well. Everyday gets a little easier. Steven is beautiful and such a joy. He is sleeping and eating well which makes things for Mommy and Daddy much easier. Thanks for your patience with this posting; we have had our hands full...literally, but are loving this wonderful little addition to our family.

Baby Bulletin

We have decided to induce Steven on Saturday, September 2. Our doctor thinks that he is going to be a big baby and is concerned that his head will be too large for me to be able to deliver him vaginally if we leave him in there much longer. I'll be 39 weeks on Saturday. Unfortunately, the hospital is very busy this time of year and does not have any appointments available in Labor & Delivery. So we will be waiting for a phone call from my doctor to say that they have a room before heading to the hospital on Saturday. I wish that we had an official time but are excited that he will, Lord-willing, be here soon!
